Yesteryears

I just love this stamp by Darkroom Door - an Aussie company!! Now tell me I am not crazy for putting blue and green together but I really really like this combination. Yes I know we look outside and see a blue sky and green grass and it looks just perfect but I grew up with the idea that blue with green should never be seen!

I stamped with black Versafine ink on to SU Baja Breeze, then layered on to black, then a piece of Bazzill green which I ran through the crimper at one end. The wording is also a Darkroom Door stamp and the button is from Basic Grey.

This card really says 'Queensland' to me!!! The old homestead, gum tree and crimping that reminds me of corrugated iron. Well, maybe you shouldn't wear blue and green together, but you most certainly can put them together on a card!!! This looks fabulous!! :)

Jean these days it's out the door with the old colour combos we were told not to put together cause really now with so many different shade of one colour those combos are the best... maybe they didn't want us to be too 'bright'... ha ha
I love your card & colour combo... the button, string & specically the part corrugation... picture perfect...

Hi Jean,
I think it looks great! The rustic touches (Twine, button and crimping) are the perfect compliment to such a graphic stamp.

Hi Jean, your card is really beautiful and I love the sentiment. I think it's an old saying the "blue and green should never be seen" I can remember my auntie's always saying that but I love it together.
Your blog is gorgeous hunny

Hi Jean! Wow I absolutely love this! I have always thought blue and green were perfect together! Isn't it funny how we grew up with certain no no's and now the rules are all different... I was told never to mix red and pink! Now I love them together! LOL! This is a truly wonderful design. I love the crimping... I always forget to use it! Love the twine and button... and wonderful sentiment! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! It means a lot! Hugs,
Grace
