Earthy Fishy

I made this card a few days ago -before I lost my ever faithful purebred border collie Jess. She was only about ten years old and even though she was a bit crazy at times, she was part of our family and she loved me. I miss her terribly as she was with me whenever I was outside. I guess time heals.

Since then, I have not felt like card making but try to keep thinking and getting excited about Convention next week and my lovely time with Bethel after that! We are counting down the days. This time next week, Karen and I will be in Brisbane possibly at the hotel.

This card was made using Stampin' Up! Fishy Friends set and matching wheel called Fishy. The words come from a stamp in the set called Its Your Birthday and I continue the wording inside which says Counting Years, It's a Matter of Making Years Count.

The scallop edge on the Brocade Blue strip was done using the slit punch and I used both the 1 and a quarter inch punch and the 1 and three eighths inch punch as well . There are just so many uses for the Stampin' Up! punches and there are great new ones in the catty now.

I love your card - you always can do such lovely things with this set - why cant I! lol

Was very sad to learn about Jess. I wish more people loved their pets like you loved ol' Jess!

Jean,
Sorry to hear about Jess. It's funny how the station ladies tend to have one old faithful dog that is on their heels the moment they walk out the door. Mine is a black kelpie, cattle dog cross called Daisy, that we've had for 5 years, my last cattle dog I had for 16 years and it's like losing someone in the family. Gets you down, but sounds like you have something to take your mind off it in the next few days. You lucky thing. I would love to be going. Maybe next year. Have fun and hope you girls have lots of new ideas to share with us lost souls who don't get to go.
cheers,
Kristy G.
