Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!

This is for all my fellow Aussies and I hope everyone is able to at least celebrate a little of the day somehow. I know the people in the flood affected areas not far west of me will be cleaning up today and people in some parts of Rockhampton are preparing for the flood that is coming their way.

Emerald normally has really big Australia Day celebrations in the Botanic Gardens but most of those Gardens would have gone under water. The Celebrations were cancelled though the river is now under the bridge and in a few hours after a safety inspection, it will be safe to drive over and be open to the public again after being closed for a few days!

Information for overseas friends - Australia Day is celebrated each year on the 26th of January as that is the day that the First Fleet landed at Port Jackson to establish a colony in 1788.

I feel so lucky to be an Australian as I have travelled to a country way less well off than we are and you don't realise how lucky you are until you actually visit these places.

Here I have used Stampin' Up! Birthday Whimsy and Big Deal Alphabet stamp sets and believe it or not, the colours are Pumpkin Pie and Glorious Green. The colours did not come out very true.

Happy AUSTRALIA DAY everyone!!
